Emmanuelle Alt: Vanity Fair's Best Dressed List 2011?

It is with extreme pleasure that I present the very first post by our new editor-at-large for Los Angeles, the amazing Bernie Rothschild! You will be seeing lots of Bernie's fabulous style on the site and I hope that you will enjoy hearing his fantastic opinions on fashion as much as I do. Welcome to the team, Bernie!

The Vanity Fair Best Dressed List will be published soon and I would personally like to nominate Emmanuelle Alt for the list. As all we know, Emmanuelle, together with her predecessor Carine Roitfeld, is the 21st century modern style icon and the epitome of cool, rock 'n' roll chic with a touch of Parisian glamour (In Madame Alt’s case it is the touch of Yves Saint Laurent’s muse Betty Catroux because we never see either of them wearing skirts, they are both always in pants.) It would be great to see a new French woman on the list (FYI, Ms. Roitfeld made the list two times previously together with her children) and Madame Alt has been very consistent with her style. As the discerning Inez Van Lamsweerde shares: “I always say to her, ‘I want everything you’re wearing'.” Wishing Emmanuelle the very best of luck, hope to see you in Vanity Fair!
