Vogue Paris October 2011: Sasha Pivovarova

For the October issue of Vogue Paris, Emmanuelle Alt chose to give Sasha Pivovarova her first cover wearing Atelier Versace as photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Inside we will have a chance to see the return of sex appeal to fashion, view fine jewelry, and enjoy a coffee with Jean Dujardin, a French actor and comedian.

I love Emanuelle, but she has to stop right away with the celebrities! Vogue isn't Glamour. She cannot seriously put 'Un café aver Jean Dujardin' on the cover.

And there's something wrong with the cropping around the head don't you think?

This model is stunning! I don't love the dress, but I do like how all the colors in the photograph work together. All in all, I think it is a great cover.

Emmanuelle Alt could create a strong images if she wants too...looking at her past work it will be so hard to judge her but wait till you see the inside

Whilst delighted for Sasha - and her much-deserved, inaugural Vogue Paris cover! - there is something distinctly jarring about the composition of this image.

It results, I think, from the placement and artificiality of her peroxide hair.
