Vogue Paris August 2011: Lara Stone

Emmanuelle Alt chose Lara Stone to grace the cover of the August issue of Vogue Paris wearing a black dress from Haider Ackermann's Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection and it is stunning! This is assuredly my favorite cover yet under Emmanuelle's direction; simple, memorable, cinematic, and sexy as hell. Brava Emmanuelle ! Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shot this sizzling image. The text on the cover indicates that Emmanuelle will continue Carine Roitfeld's tradition of featuring total looks from 64 designers in the issue while also offering the top choices in films, exhibits, and books to distract us as the easy pace of summer ends and we return to routine.

Whoa, a profound observation was offered by ana on Fashion Spot: "Carine's favorite model watching a departure? Interesting." Keep in mind that the August issue was the first to be entirely under Emmanuelle's control... I guess that is a bit of tit for tat for the inspiration for Carine's last cover, the soft porn film Emmanuelle. Très très très très drôle...

Cathy Horyn of The New York Times snapped this quick candid of Agnes Boulard (aka Mademoiselle Agnes), Capucine Safyurtlu (Alt's new assistant), and Emmanuelle Alt following the Giambattista Valli show. I love Emmanuelle's expression in this photo, she seems relaxed and happy while at the same time her knowing smile suggests some mischief afoot. I am interested to learn more about her new assistant, please let me know if you have any information about the latest addition to the Vogue Paris staff.

Emmanuelle Alt: Summer Chic

We can all take a lesson from Emmanuelle Alt here, she makes it look so simple to dress chicly for warmer temperatures. Her cool demeanor consists of a pale blue chambray shirt with her cuffs rolled back and her tails tucked into black denim jeans which are rolled up to accent her chic little black shoes. Her braided leather black belt further serves to accentuate her low slung waistline, aiding in the illusion of lengthening her silhouette. Notice also that Emmanuelle is rarely seen without her iPod and headphones in hand, she is clearly a devoted music lover. She is pictured outside of the Christian Dior haute couture show held at the Musée Rodin in Paris.
