ANDAM Fashion Award Winner: Anthony Vaccarello

Emmanuelle Alt served on the jury for the prestigious ANDAM prize this year and the winner is... Anthony Vaccarello. The 31 year old Belgian is known for his little black dresses, minimalist and sexy. As testament to his burgeoning talent, he was invited by Vogue Paris to show his collection at their Petit Salon Des Jeunes Créateurs at the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris last March. How does Vaccarello plan to use his prize money? In his words: “I want to continue to grow, to become more grand... To produce more pieces, especially show pieces... I like the idea of keeping it small, but maybe more light.” Other designers in the running for the €200,000 prize were Iku Furudate and Kaito Hori (Commuun), Adam Kimmel, Jeremy Laing, Levi Palmer and Matthew Harding (Palmer/Harding), and Yiqing Yin. Among the fashion professionals comprising the jury were Pierre Bergé; Hilary Alexander, fashion director for the Telegraph; Sarah Lerfel, Colette; and Humberto Leon, Opening Ceremony.

It's really a beautiful dress. The back of it, which is the actual beauty, looks splendid.

Yes Bernie but the this dress was from his graduate collection in 2006 when he won the Festival Of Hyeres ..

If this is the Carine that I hope that it is, of course there are too many things I would like to say to you, but for now I will thank you for sharing your knowledge and for defending this burgeoning young designer. Perhaps Monsieur Anthony inspired Monsieur Valentino?

no its Pier Paulo and Maria Grazia who's inspired by him!

Definitely not the emperor cause he is the master of the originality! his designs are timeless, rich and elegant. Unlike P.P and M.G who's been copying the last rtw trend to the couture
